**Project Engineer Role:**

We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Project Engineer to join our team in Sunderland. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering projects from start to finish, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Salary: £52,000 - £62,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Job Description:

You will work closely with our team to develop project execution plans, manage project costs, and oversee project schedules. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering projects from conception to completion
  • Cost control and management of contracts
  • Developing project execution plans in line with company procedures and client needs
  • Defining contract completion criteria and creating closure plans
  • Assisting in crafting project proposals during the bidding phase
  • Reviewing all project and contractual documents post-contract assignment
  • Managing project costs, budget allocation, and spending approval
  • Developing and overseeing project schedules, monitoring progress, and identifying impacts
  • Maintaining project cash flow projections and flagging any risks or negative cash flows
  • Leading internal and external project meetings to ensure progress alignment
  • Coordinating project activities across various stages for schedule adherence
  • Generating internal project summary reports and communicating progress regularly
  • Producing external project progress reports as per contract requirements
  • Attending client meetings to provide project updates and status
  • Reviewing and approving invoices before payment
  • Identifying, logging, and managing project risks and opportunities
  • Managing changes to contract scope and developing variations or compensation events
  • Overseeing quality management, addressing non-conformances, and issues
  • Conducting formal project closure, including cost assessment and lessons learned documentation

Requirements:

  • HND or degree in engineering
  • Project management qualification (PMI, APM)
