About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will play a key role in providing medical input into our in-patient rehabilitation unit and Community Rehab Team, which are part of our wider Complex Care Mental Health Service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and manage patients with complex mental health needs, providing medical input into care planning and ensuring that patients receive appropriate clinical assessments.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive community and inpatient-based services to patients registered with general practitioners within Dorset.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, working closely with patients, families, and carers to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Contribute to the further shaping of local rehabilitation services, ensuring that they are responsive to the needs of patients and the community.

Requirements
  • General medical qualification (MBBS or equivalent) and a Licence to Practise.
  • MRCPsych or recognized equivalent, membership of a psychiatry college in another country.
  • Section 12(2) approval and Approved Clinician approval or ability to obtain approval before starting post.
  • On Specialist Register in Psychiatry.
