Senior Consultant Psychiatrist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for providing medical input into the in-patient rehabilitation unit and Community Rehab Team, which are part of a wider Complex Care Mental Health Service.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and manage patients with complex mental health needs, providing medical input into care planning and ensuring that patients receive appropriate clinical assessments.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive community and inpatient-based services to patients registered with general practitioners within Dorset.
- Develop and implement treatment plans, working closely with patients, families, and carers to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Contribute to the development of local rehabilitation services, shaping the future of mental health care in Dorset.
- General medical qualification (MBBS or equivalent) and a Licence to Practise.
- Membership of a psychiatry college (MRCPsych or recognised equivalent).
- Section 12(2) approval and Approved Clinician approval or ability to obtain approval before starting post.
- On Specialist Register in Psychiatry.
