About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will play a key role in providing medical input into our in-patient rehabilitation unit and Community Rehab Team, which are part of our wider Complex Care Mental Health Service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide medical input into the in-patient rehabilitation unit and Community Rehab Team
  • Assist in the assessment of new patients into the service, their ongoing management, and review when it is appropriate for patients to be transferred back to general adult teams
  • Ensure that patients receive appropriate clinical assessments and ensure that there is appropriate medical input into care planning
  • Manage a caseload of patients, including those transitioning from Inpatient Rehabilitation Services
  • Have the opportunity to be involved in the further shaping of local rehabilitation services

Requirements
  • General medical qualification (MBBS or equivalent) and a Licence to Practise
  • MRCPsych or recognised equivalent, membership of a psychiatry college in another country
  • Section 12(2) approval and Approved Clinician approval or ability to obtain approval before starting post
  • On Specialist Register in Psychiatry
