Job Overview:
The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking qualified individuals to join our educational team as adjunct faculty in the field of Emergency Medical Services. This role is pivotal in delivering quality education to students pursuing careers in emergency medical services. The position entails teaching responsibilities that may vary based on enrollment and institutional needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement instructional materials for both day and evening courses.
  • Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain a consistent presence on campus to support student engagement.
  • Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and administrative staff.
Required Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in Emergency Medical Services or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Current certification as a Paramedic at the National Registry or Virginia level.
  • A strong commitment to fostering a student-centered learning environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles.
  • Proficient in planning and organizing instructional activities to enhance student learning.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • A passion for teaching and inspiring students in their educational journey.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Emergency Medical Services or a related field.
  • Certification as a Virginia EMS Education Coordinator.
  • Experience in teaching within a CoAEMSP accredited EMS program.
  • Familiarity with community college teaching methodologies.
  • Experience in online, hybrid, and traditional classroom instruction.
  • Proficiency in utilizing instructional technologies and learning management systems.
