About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned actuary to join our Reserving team in the UK as a Lead Reserving Actuary. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a global insurance group and contribute to its growth.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and mentoring a team of five student & qualified actuaries, providing expert actuarial advice to Underwriters, Claims, and Finance teams, and overseeing quarterly reserving, business planning, and portfolio analysis.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead reserving results, post-reserving processes, and actual vs. expected analyses.
  • Collaborate with the capital team on reserving and underwriting variability.
  • Drive business planning discussions and conduct ad-hoc portfolio analyses.
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Coach and manage junior actuaries, ensuring technical excellence.

Your Qualifications:

  • An experience qualified actuary with a strong Reserving background.
  • Non-Life market experience in Commercial, Retail, London Market / Lloyds.
  • Knowledge of UK Motor & Liability insurance is valuable but not essential.
  • Experience and passion for leading and supporting a team.
