Job Title: Fetal Monitoring Specialist Midwife

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Fetal Monitoring Specialist Midwife to join our team at George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust. As a key member of our clinical leadership team, you will be responsible for providing expert guidance and support in fetal monitoring, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced midwife to take on a leadership role in fetal monitoring. You will work closely with our obstetric team to develop and implement best practices in fetal monitoring, ensuring that our patients receive the highest quality care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert guidance and support in fetal monitoring, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety.
  • Develop and implement best practices in fetal monitoring, working closely with our obstetric team.
  • Lead weekly CTG workshops, maintaining attendance registers to ensure compliance for midwives and medical staff.
  • Disseminate learning which emerges from workshops, ensuring that all staff are up-to-date with the latest fetal monitoring techniques.
  • Take a lead role with the Delivery Suite Obstetric Consultant in developing an audit form for reviewing emergency births, instrumental and caesarean sections in the previous 24 hours.
Person Specification

We are looking for an experienced and skilled midwife who has:

  • Relevant experience as a Band 6 or Band 7 midwife.
  • Audit and risk management experience.
  • Previous experience in managing/leading change in practice.
  • Proficient and broad understanding of CTG interpretation and multidisciplinary training and education.
