Job Title: Distribution Operations Director

A leading national drinks wholesaler, supplying drink products, hospitality and marketing support to over 16,000 on-trade premises in the UK.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Organize staffing levels to meet business requirements, ensuring seamless warehouse operations.
  • Coordinate agency support as needed to maintain efficient logistics.
  • Process orders, generate pick lists, and dispatch notes in accordance with depot procedures.
  • Minimize delivery costs while ensuring timely delivery of goods.
  • Induct new warehouse staff, providing comprehensive training and support.
  • Act as the first point of contact for warehouse operatives, resolving issues promptly and escalating concerns to the Operations Manager as necessary.
  • Monitor and manage absence, taking proactive steps to minimize disruption.
  • Support the Distribution Manager in various tasks, serving as a role model for the Depot.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in warehouse distribution, preferably with load planning expertise.
  • Comfortable working with numerical data, analyzing transport information to optimize logistics.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to work closely with the transport crew and resolve issues effectively.
  • Skilled problem solver, always looking for improvements and opportunities to enhance operations.
  • Proactive and positive approach, willing to support management-level tasks as required.
