Youth Substance Misuse Intervention Specialist

About the RoleThe successful candidate will work with children and young people aged 0-21, providing specialist support to prevent and reduce substance misuse. This will involve delivering assessments, interventions, and advice to help individuals make healthier lifestyle choices.
A key aspect of this role is working in partnership with other services, including CAMHS, Education, and YJS. This will enable you to provide a comprehensive support system for young people, addressing their complex needs and reducing the risk of harm.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver substance misuse assessments and interventions, particularly for young people with complex needs
- Assist individuals towards healthier lifestyle choices, providing advice and information on a one-to-one basis
- Participate in multi-agency working, attending support and planning meetings to ensure young people receive the best possible support
- Lead large group interventions, such as whole school assemblies or community groups
- Work flexibly, including evenings and outreach in the community
- Hold a specialist qualification (at least level 4) in a related field, e.g., Diploma in Substance Misuse, Youth Justice, Youth Work, or Mental Health
- Demonstrate working knowledge of relevant legislation, guidance, and policy context
- Exhibit resilience, risk management skills, and excellent written and communication skills
- Be able to deliver training and present in front of groups
