We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Rep/Handyperson to join our Estates & Facilities Team, playing a vital role in maintaining the health and safety of our buildings and grounds. This is a dynamic and rewarding role that requires a high level of competence in minor property maintenance, plant, electrical, engineering, plumbing, and grounds maintenance.
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and carrying out all minor repairs, ensuring safe working practices, and performing statutory checks. You will work closely with our Estates & Facilities Team to develop and implement a programme of scheduled maintenance for all areas of the hospice.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintenance and repair, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. A driving license is required for this role, as you may need to travel to our retail shops to carry out minor repairs or supervise contractors.
Responsibilities:- Manage and carry out minor repairs in areas such as plumbing, joinery, engineering, electrical, vehicles, play equipment, and internal decoration.
- Develop and implement a programme of scheduled maintenance for all areas of the hospice, including decoration, refurbishment, and rebuilding work.
- Liaise with external contractors, oversee their work, and ensure compliance with hospice policies while on site.
- Perform various painting and redecoration tasks, including wallpapering, painting with different paints, varnishes, and finishes both inside and outside.
- A competitive salary of £26,500 - £28,500 per annum, depending on experience.
- A 37.5-hour working week, Monday to Friday, with some flexibility to cover evening shifts, weekends, and bank holidays.
