Clinical Psychologist Specialist Weight Management Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team in a Specialist Weight Management Service. As a Clinical Psychologist Specialist Weight Management, you will play a key role in developing and delivering innovative psychological interventions to support individuals with complex weight-related issues.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and forward-thinking team, contributing to the design, development, and delivery of our expanding psychology group offer. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team, including dietitians, clinical nurse specialists, and consultant obesity physicians, to provide comprehensive care to patients with complex physical and mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and treat complex cases of trauma and severe and enduring mental health conditions
- Lead on the design, development, and delivery of the expanding psychology group offer within our Specialist Weight Management Service
- Provide individual psychology treatment using a range of therapeutic models, including managing therapeutic relationships when contributing to assessment of suitability for surgery and delivering news people do not wish to hear
- Supervise band 7 psychologists and CAP, and provide ad hoc peer supervision to colleagues as required
- Contribute to triage and vetting of referrals, and attend Triage, SWMS, Medical, and Bariatric MDT meetings as required
- Audit and evaluate our services to ensure high-quality care and outcomes
- Provide consultancy, teaching, and training to colleagues and other healthcare professionals as required
We are looking for a qualified Clinical Psychologist with appropriate post-qualification experience, HCPC registration, and experience of assessing and treating complex trauma and severe and enduring mental health conditions. You will also have experience of leading groups for people with complex physical or mental health needs, and a strong understanding of the principles of trauma-informed care.
Desirable qualifications include experience of working in physical health, weight management, or related areas, as well as experience of working with ACT, CFT, or DBT. You will also have supervisory experience and a strong ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
