The Assistant Director of Human Resources is a key role within the Police Service of Northern Ireland, responsible for leading the development and delivery of an efficient and effective HR service delivery model.
Key Responsibilities:- Strategic Leadership: Work in partnership with the Director of Human Resources to lead and coordinate the delivery of the organization's People Strategy, ensuring alignment with the organization's overall goals and objectives.
- HR Service Delivery: Develop and implement a business partnering approach to HR service delivery, ensuring optimal operational delivery through effective people management.
- Performance Management: Oversee the high-level performance of the Human Resources functions, including attraction and talent acquisition, recruitment and retention, equality, diversity and inclusion, performance management, employee and industrial relations, strategic workforce planning, and Human Resources partnering.
- Strategic Advice: Provide strategic advice to the organization on all aspects of people management and employment legislation, ensuring that all HR guidance and practice reflects emerging best practice and employment law.
- Employer Branding: Implement initiatives to promote and raise the profile of the Police Service of Northern Ireland as an employer of choice, particularly within under-represented communities.
- Service Level Agreements: Liaise with senior internal customers to develop, agree, and oversee Service Level Agreements and associated Key Performance Indicators to ensure a customer-focused approach to HR service delivery.
- Business Solutions: Provide business-focused and innovative Human Resources solutions that effectively prepare the organization for anticipated changes in policing demand at a local and national level.
- Resource Management: Oversee the effective and efficient use of resources to ensure that HR functions and services are high-quality and value for money.
- Governance: Ensure effective governance within the Human Resources function and take accountability for fulfilling all statutory functions.
- Audit and Improvement: Devise and implement an audit program for HR against corporate standards, developing subsequent actions to continuously improve service delivery.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage actively with representative bodies, trade unions, and staff networks regarding Human Resources matters.
- Best Practice: Benchmark with external stakeholders and professional bodies to keep abreast of national developments, share best practice, and network with those responsible for Human Resources within other organizations.
