Tenancy Support Officer

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled professional to join our Tenancy Sustainability Team, providing support to tenants and customers to maintain successful and sustainable tenancies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Help build confidence, skills, and capability for tenants and customers to access and maintain a successful and sustainable tenancy.
  • Improve tenancy management skills, including budgeting, money management, life skills, employment prospects, safeguarding, vulnerability, and referrals for external support.
  • Enhance understanding of tenant responsibilities, reducing rent arrears, improving vulnerability, and avoiding the potential risk of homelessness.
  • Work across Doncaster with existing tenants and people in housing need or who have been homeless to help them prepare to take up and sustain successful tenancies.
  • Collaborate with partner agencies and provide expert advice and knowledge to colleagues to support vulnerable tenants.

Requirements:

  • Detailed knowledge of Universal Credit.
  • Thorough knowledge of safeguarding and good understanding of income management and practice.
  • Ability to work on your own initiative, support team members, and experience of dealing with challenging situations.
