Asset Management Director, Student Housing

This role will play a key part in formulating and executing asset management strategies and plans for the student housing portfolio in the UK, including marketing strategies to optimize income and realize the highest value of our assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall operational and financial performance of the portfolio assigned, including positioning of assets and enhancement of cash flow and asset value.
  • Hands-on asset and operational management to ensure revenue, expenses, and physical upkeep and maintenance of the properties are optimized.
  • Prepare, manage, and ensure achievement of annual budgets and reports covering financial and operational performance of the assets, leasing status, and rental collection.
  • Develop asset plans for each asset, including recommending asset enhancement initiatives, redevelopment plans, and divestment opportunities where appropriate.
  • Assist the investment team in underwriting new investment opportunities.
  • Manage and work closely with Property Managers/Outsourced Service Providers to ensure assets are properly maintained, managed, and compliant with regulations, and coordinate with external parties like government authorities, brokers, and universities.
  • Manage market intelligence and collate global market/industry information to ensure competitiveness of the Company's products and services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Real Estate, Building, Business, Finance, Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum ten years' relevant real estate asset management experience.
  • Be operationally hands-on with sound financial grounding.
  • Good knowledge of the local markets.
  • Good people management skills, strong communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • MBA/Master's Degree in Real Estate, Finance, or equivalent would be considered desirable/highly advantageous.
