Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at Reed. As a key member of our purchasing department, you will be responsible for managing transactional purchase orders, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring that our business remains competitive.

Main Responsibilities

  • Procurement and Sourcing
    • Manage transactional purchase orders against demand and shared forecasting information.
    • Negotiate with suppliers to ensure shared processes are relevant.
    • Source new parts and gather necessary information, including price, supplier, full description, and lead time.
    • Source new/alternative suppliers.
  • Cost Reduction and Compliance
    • Work towards achieving cost reductions through negotiation and sourcing against set objectives.
    • Review the compliance of all supply chain documentation, including subcontractors and consultants.
  • Reporting and Administration
    • Run, create, and interrogate various daily and monthly reports.
    • Attend meetings and provide administrative support to other functions within the Supply Chain.
  • Warehouse and Logistics
    • Manage the process of returned items.
    • Assist with the upkeep of the warehouse/storage area, including moving boxes, recycling, and light lifting.
  • Accreditation and Liaison
    • Help manage, maintain, and promote different accreditations, including BSI, BAFE, and TSA.
    • Liaise with other departments to ensure the smooth and efficient transfer of high-quality information and data.
  • Reporting and Analysis
    • Create monthly reports to support purchasing targets and KPIs.

Requirements

  • Experience in a fast-paced purchasing role and ability to work in a busy environment.
  • Experience in negotiating supplier contracts to gain cost reduction.
  • Ability to understand business reports and identify discrepancies/cost savings.
  • Able to contribute ideas, suggestions, and feedback to improve the service and identify and implement service improvement projects.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills are essential.
