We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Community Support Worker to join our team in Cambridgeshire, working with disabled children and young people and their families.
Our ideal candidate will have experience working with children and young people or adults with a disability, and a strong understanding of professional boundaries, respect for others' feelings and views, and effective communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work independently to organise and plan your own workload, prioritising tasks and managing time effectively
- Build rapport with children and young people with varying needs, and their families, using active listening and empathy skills
- Collaborate with colleagues to provide high-quality support and services, sharing knowledge and expertise
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge, and contribute to the growth and development of the team
Requirements:
- Diploma (or NVQ) at Level 2 in a Childcare-related subject, or willingness to work towards it
- Experience of working with children and young people or adults with a disability, and a strong understanding of the principles and limits of confidentiality
- Knowledge of the impact of oppression and discrimination, and consideration of the significance of safeguarding
