About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the development and delivery of high-quality visitor services at the University of Leeds.

Job Description

You will be responsible for managing a team of staff who provide daily operation support services and gallery spaces, while also coordinating activities with curatorial staff on collections management and engagement work.

Your role will involve working closely with the Audience Development Manager to ensure that our services map to our audience development strategy and that appropriate audience data, customer feedback, and collections usage metrics are fed into future planning and development of our services, collections work, engagement priorities, and Customer Service Excellence standards.

As a key contact with Library Customer Services Managers, you will ensure integration with wider policies and procedures as required. You will work with various cross-Library teams to maintain and improve the physical environment, including enhancements to collections management and storage.

This post requires substantial experience of working in a library, cultural, or heritage collections environment, with demonstrable experience of delivering excellent customer service and continuous service improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • To develop and deliver high-quality visitor services across the University campus.
  • To manage a team of staff responsible for daily operation support services and gallery spaces.
  • To coordinate activities with curatorial staff on collections management and engagement work.
  • To work closely with the Audience Development Manager to ensure alignment with audience development strategy.
  • To act as the main contact with Library Customer Services Managers.
Requirements

This role requires:

  • Substantial experience of working in a library, cultural, or heritage collections environment.
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering excellent customer service and continuous service improvement.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Benefits

The salary for this role is £42,000 - £52,000 per annum, depending on experience. The University offers a range of benefits, including 26 days holiday plus bank holidays, a generous pension scheme, life assurance, and access to on-site childcare and shopping discounts.
