Job Title: School Room Supervisor for Hospital Outreach Programme

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a School Room Supervisor for the Hospital Outreach Programme (HOP) at University Hospital Lewisham. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational needs of children and young people who are inpatients at the hospital.

Job Summary:

The School Room Supervisor will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operation of the School Room, ensuring that students receive a high-quality education experience. This will involve working closely with the HOP team, including the English and Maths Outreach Tutors, to deliver a maths and English curriculum to students across key stages. You will also be responsible for recording and processing data, as well as overseeing the use of online learning programmes to support student learning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the School Room, ensuring that students receive a high-quality education experience.
  • Work closely with the HOP team to deliver a maths and English curriculum to students across key stages.
  • Record and process data related to student progress and achievement.
  • Oversee the use of online learning programmes to support student learning.
  • Supervise students independently in the School Room, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Requirements:
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to raising the educational outcomes of all UHL Children's Ward inpatients attending the School Room.
  • Experience of supervising young people independently in a school setting.
  • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills, equivalent to NVQ Level 2.
  • Higher Level Teacher Assistant qualification or equivalent.
