Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

Our ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the availability and maintenance of all IT infrastructure services, both on-premise and cloud-hosted. This includes managing the deliverables of the IT infrastructure team, evaluating services, and planning for their improvement.

They will also be responsible for training and developing direct reports, as well as overseeing the upkeep of comms rooms and services, ensuring their power is secure.

The successful candidate will work effectively and efficiently with internal colleagues, consultants, and third parties to ensure all activities are in accordance with business processes.

They will also be responsible for managing costs associated with all services, particularly cloud solutions, and ensuring that all new and updated services are thoroughly tested.

Additionally, they will be responsible for ensuring that solutions and services are suitably documented and kept up-to-date, and for participating in and being an escalation point for out-of-hours support.

They will also be responsible for ensuring that infrastructure cover is always available, including shift and out-of-hours rotas.

Finally, they will undertake all activities in line with company health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures, and participate in the development of a safe and healthy workplace.

Qualifications or Equivalent Experience:

We are looking for a professional with professional IT qualifications in IT infrastructure fields, as well as significant IT work experience as an IT engineer/administrator. IT team leadership experience or suitable management training/certifications are also highly desirable.

Academic achievement to at least A-level standard is required, with a degree-level qualification being preferred.
