Epidemiologist

Our client, a leading health information technology and clinical research organization, is seeking an Epidemiologist to join their team on a 12-month contract basis. The role will be based in London and will involve working on a hybrid basis, with the option to work remotely.

Job Overview

The successful candidate will work closely with global clients and other functional groups to provide epidemiology leadership for real-world studies. This will involve designing methodologically sound studies to meet project objectives and stakeholder requirements, conducting and reviewing analyses, and evaluating and reporting on studies.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead the design and implementation of epidemiology/pharmacoepidemiology methods in real-world studies and studies using real-world data.
  2. Support senior staff on specific research initiatives as needed.
  3. Serve as project lead on smaller projects or in support of project lead on larger client-facing or internal projects.
  4. Author protocols, reports, and other study documents with independent, critical thinking to ensure quality and completeness of output.
  5. Review and provide relevant epidemiological research input to statistical analysis plans and analysis output.
  6. Review and provide epidemiology input for tasks including CRF/eCRF development, form previews, and other ad hoc project tasks.

Qualifications

  1. A Master's Degree in epidemiology, pharmacoepidemiology, public health with a concentration in epidemiology, pharmacy with a concentration in epidemiology, or a relevant scientific field, and 5 years of relevant experience, or a Ph.D. with 2 years of relevant experience.
  2. Sound methodological training in epidemiology, pharmacoepidemiology, public health with a concentration in epidemiology, pharmacy with a concentration in epidemiology, or a related area relevant to observational health research.
  3. Ability to design, plan, and conduct observational studies of comparative effectiveness and safety.
  4. Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Edge, and ability to read outputs from SAS, R, or other programming languages.
