Job Summary

Senior Physiotherapist, Band 6 (30 hours a week)

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic physiotherapist to join our integrated Trauma and Orthopaedic therapy team. The successful candidate will have experience, knowledge, and skills in both trauma and orthopaedics, and will support the ongoing development of the therapy service in this specialist area.

This post will give you the opportunity to actively participate in and help lead service delivery change, with exciting developments within orthopaedics. You will have excellent communication skills, be motivated to develop your own skills and that of the service, and provide high-quality and evidence-based therapy.

The successful candidate will be a proactive and dynamic physiotherapist who can provide specialist knowledge and leadership experience while supporting flow and positive risk in a fast-paced environment.

As a Therapy Department, we pride ourselves on developing staff with a dedicated Research and Development team providing CPD support to staff in all roles, including to Masters levels and beyond.

This post will be cross-site, covering both Cheltenham General Hospital and Gloucester Royal Hospital, providing the exciting opportunity to work within both trauma and elective orthopaedics. The post holder must be flexible to meet the service needs.

Main Duties of the Job

The post holder assumes responsibility for the day-to-day management of the clinical area in the absence of the team leader.

The post holder is supervised by a named therapist, who may not be present at all times. Clinical and professional supervision is in the form of regular clinical reasoning sessions, observed practice, peer review, and formal training.

The post holder will link with the Band 7 Clinical Lead Therapist to support the use of resources within budget. The level of managerial responsibility involves the supervision and appraisal of junior therapists, support workers, and undergraduates, with the support of the Band 7.
