We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sustainability and Risk Advisor to join our team at CV-Library. As a key member of our health, safety, and environmental department, you will be responsible for supporting the HSE Manager in developing policies, plans, procedures, and suitable suites of risk assessments to ensure a robust EMS/SMS management system exists across the business.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing or logistics environment with at least 150 employees and knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards. You will also be responsible for carrying out effective system and process audits to ensure continual improvement and implementing plans that support our HSE business strategy.

Salary: £48,000 - £58,000 per annum

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement sustainable solutions to minimize the impact of our operations on the environment.
  2. Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop mitigation strategies.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategies for improving health, safety, and environmental performance.
  4. Provide training and guidance to employees on health, safety, and environmental procedures and protocols.
  5. Monitor and analyze data and metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement in health, safety, and environmental performance.
  6. Stay up to date with new legislation, company and other safety information and support the Management Team accordingly.
  7. Assist with compilation of accident statistics and brief the Management Team accordingly.
  8. Contribute to the continuous improvement in business performance.
  9. Ensure HSE strategy plans are up to date, tracked and actions both generated and completed.
  10. Effective communications with internal, Group & external bodies.
  11. Help develop document, policies and procedures and cascade to department management teams.
  12. Training and Development needs identified and cascaded.
  13. Monitoring HSE procedural implementation by internal audits.
  14. Identification of Risks to the Business, with recommendations of hazard control/elimination.
  15. Assist with compilation of accident Incident statistics together with resource consumption data and SCR internal & external Reporting requirements.
  16. Champion energy efficiency & environmental activities in line with company, legislative and customer aspirations.
  17. Audit the effectiveness of policies and systems to the requirements of ISO 14001/ ISO 45001, including report writing and follow up.
  18. Carry out as necessary internal systems audits to include ISO14001 / ISO 45001 plus site specific environmental permit requirements including annual solvent mass balance.
  19. Coordinate site specific fire / spill drills.
  20. Champion good behavioural safety at all levels of the business, via the operational management team - good health and safety is good business.
  21. Assist departmental management teams in the creation of risk assessments and works instructions.
  22. Help development and the implementation of targets and strategy plans linked to HSE annual performance objectives.
  23. Help facilitate and chair health & safety monthly forums.
  24. Deliver specific H&S training as necessary.
