Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Streetworks Operations Coordinator to join our team at Opals Group.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to take on a challenging role in overseeing and coordinating streetworks activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and facilitating efficient project execution.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of streetworks legislation, regulations, and codes of practice, as well as excellent communication and organizational skills.

Job Description:
  • Coordinate streetworks activities, including roadworks, excavations, installations, and repairs, in accordance with statutory requirements, permits, and regulations (e.g., NRSWA, TMA).
  • Liaise with local authorities, utilities companies, contractors, and other stakeholders to obtain necessary permits, approvals, and permissions for streetworks operations.
  • Schedule and plan streetworks activities, allocating resources, equipment, and personnel to meet project requirements and deadlines.
  • Manage the process of applying for and obtaining streetworks permits, noticing works, and coordinating with regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with permit conditions and restrictions.
  • Coordinate with contractors and supervisors to ensure timely submission of permit applications and adherence to permit conditions during works.
  • Coordinate traffic management arrangements, including temporary road closures, lane closures, and diversions, in collaboration with traffic management companies and regulatory authorities.
  • Monitor streetworks sites for compliance with health and safety regulations, risk assessments, and safe working practices, and take corrective actions as necessary.
  • Communicate with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to provide updates on streetworks activities, project progress, and potential impacts on local communities.
  • Respond to inquiries, complaints, and requests for information from stakeholders regarding streetworks operations, providing accurate and timely updates and resolutions.
  • Coordinate with local residents, businesses, and community groups to minimize disruption, address concerns, and provide information about planned works and schedules.
  • Maintain comprehensive records, documentation, and reports related to streetworks activities, including permit applications, works notices, inspection reports, and incident records.
  • Prepare regular progress reports, performance metrics, and compliance documentation to monitor and evaluate streetworks performance and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of post-project evaluations, lessons learned reports, and recommendations for process improvements and best practices.
About You:
  • You have relevant experience in streetworks coordination, highway maintenance, or project management, preferably in the construction or utilities sector.
  • You possess a strong understanding of streetworks legislation, regulations, and codes of practice, including NRSWA, TMA, and associated guidance documents.
  • You are proficient in project management software, GIS tools, and Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • You have excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • You hold a valid driving license and are willing to travel to project sites and attend meetings as required.
