About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Controls Manager to join our Project & Programme Services team at AtkinsRéalis. As a Senior Project Controls Manager, you will be responsible for adding value to project/programme teams on niche and high-profile schemes across the infrastructure sector for our reputable clients.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage a Project Controls team, setting individuals' objectives, reviewing performance, and providing ongoing feedback.
  • Develop and monitor the Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB) and agree on progress measurement methodology with contractors.
  • Measure current performance and predict future performance using valid performance measurement techniques such as earned value management.
  • Collate performance and progress data, developing high-quality reports for project/programme leaders and providing interpretation of the data.
  • Sustain and improve planning, risk, cost control, change control management policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Lead teams implementing change control and chair/facilitate project/programme level change forums.
  • Advise project/programme leaders on specialist advice and technical knowledge to resolve or mitigate delays, issues, and other challenges.
  • Undertake self-assessment of procedural compliance and share lessons learned within the Project Controls community.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Successful leadership with a proven track record of delivering results within a large-scale project environment.
  • Exceptional skills and experience in managing stakeholders, including clients, senior leaders, and colleagues in a matrix and line organization.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present at programme or portfolio level forums or meetings to senior stakeholders.
  • Proven expertise in Project Management or Project Controls Management, specifically within complex infrastructure projects across sectors such as transport, energy, defence, or water.
  • Preferably owning a good standing formal professional Project Management or project controls management qualification or certification.
  • Proficiency in EVM processes and their application in complex infrastructure projects, with a strong aptitude to oversee schedule, cost, risk, change control management activities, and reporting.
  • Experience of project controls management under NEC Forms of Contract.
  • Experience in a client organization for a complex infrastructure project/programme.
  • Consistent attention to detail with the ability to solve complex problems and mitigate risks.
  • A good appreciation of Quantitative Schedule and Cost Risk Analysis (QSRA/QCRA) and baseline management.
  • Ability to identify multifaceted problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Resilience, with the ability to maintain rational thought in a high-pressure environment.
