Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to apply your marketing, communications, and fundraising skills to develop the profile of Wales Medicines Strategy Group's charity across the hospital site and in the community, grow our supporter base, help develop a positive supporter journey, and increase funds, as we support the hospital to be the best it can be for patients, families, and staff.

Main Duties of the Job

Working closely with the charity's Director, the post holder will build the charity's profile across traditional and digital communications, targeting our stakeholders with compelling stories and consistent messages. He/ she will increase engagement with hospital staff, patients, supporters, and the wider community, building greater awareness of our fundraising and the impact charitable support is having on patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy to promote the charity's work and raise awareness of its impact.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including hospital staff, patients, supporters, and the wider community.
  • Produce high-quality communications materials, including reports, newsletters, and social media content.
  • Manage and monitor budgets to ensure effective use of resources.
  • Collaborate with the charity's Director to develop and implement fundraising strategies.
Person Specification
  • Degree or equivalent level of experience in a relevant subject.
  • Masters degree or equivalent level of experience in a relevant subject.
Requirements
  • Proven track record in marketing and communications across multiple channels.
  • Experience of producing impactful communications and campaigns.
  • Experience of monitoring and managing budgets.
  • Previous experience within the charity sector.
Skills
  • Ability to write compelling communications in a variety of formats.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with a range of audiences.
  • Strong organisational and IT skills.
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to engage positively and constructively with people at all levels.
Knowledge
  • Understanding of how to report on the impact of marketing and communications activities.
  • An understanding of the UK healthcare sector relevant to the role.
