Job Summary

MILLER INSURANCE LLC is seeking a highly skilled Business Analytics Specialist - Risk Modelling to join its team. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, with a focus on risk modelling and analysis.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative insurance company, where you will be responsible for performing risk analyses to support Miller's offering to its clients. You will model and analyse natural catastrophe exposure for multiple Miller Business Units, ensuring accurate and relevant model outputs and assumptions.

Main Responsibilities

  • Risk Analysis: Perform thorough risk analyses to identify potential threats and opportunities, using catastrophe modelling techniques.
  • Data Management: Maintain robust data cleansing, manipulation, and peer review practices to ensure accuracy and relevance of model outputs and assumptions.
  • Communication: Communicate complex analytical findings to internal and external stakeholders, both verbally and through formal reports/presentations.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the team to build trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Accuracy and Timeliness: Ensure high standards of accuracy in work, adhering to Miller's policies and procedures, and meeting deadlines.

Requirements

  • Qualifications: Essential qualifications include A-Levels in numerate and/or natural hazards disciplines. Desirable qualifications include Professional Catastrophe Modelling qualifications: CCRA (RMS), CEEM (AIR/Verisk) and/or CSCR (ISCM and iCAS).
  • Experience: Strong grasp of catastrophe modelling methodologies and applications within the (re)insurance industry. Essential experience includes using RMS RiskLink or AIR Touchstone including use of SQL.
  • Skills: Proficient in Excel, plus overall excellent understanding in the Microsoft office suite. Strong oral and written communication skills for a variety of audiences.

  • Salary: The estimated salary for this role is £60,000 per annum.
  • Pension Contribution: 10% pension contribution from Miller, with a match of up to 5% of employee contributions.
