Residential Children's Services Deputy Manager Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Manager to join our team at Headway Adolescent Children's Services. As a Deputy Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our residential home and providing a safe and supportive environment for young people in our care.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage and lead a team of Team Leaders and Residential Support Workers to provide high-quality childcare and support to young people.
- Work closely with the Children's Home Manager to ensure the home runs efficiently and effectively, and that young people achieve positive outcomes.
- Ensure the needs of young people in our care are met and provide a positive and safe living experience.
- Manage the home's budget and ensure that the petty cash budget is utilized responsibly and properly balanced at the end of each shift.
- Comply with the Company's Safeguarding Policies and Procedures and report any causes of concern to the nominated Designated Safeguarding Officer immediately.
- Attend all required training and present in-house training courses as required.
- Participate in the on-call rota as required and be available to cover shifts when on-call.
- Good overall standard of education.
- Working towards or hold a Level Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent.
- Up-to-date knowledge of Child Care legislation, children's home regulations, and quality standards.
- Hold a QCF Level qualification or be willing to work towards one.
- A minimum of 2 years' previous experience of working directly with young people with challenging behavior.
- Experience of working with outside agencies, other professionals, parents, and families.
- Excellent report writing and numeracy skills.
- Well-organized with excellent administration and IT skills.
- Able to relate to young people with empathy and committed to a high standard of childcare and achieving the best outcomes for young people in their care.
