Estimating Director Job Description

Job Summary:

We're seeking an experienced Estimating Director to join our UK Estimating team. As a leader in the Infrastructure sector, you'll be responsible for estimating production, estimating support, and leading the development of estimating good practice within our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the production of accurate and comprehensive estimates and cost plans for projects and programs.
  2. Develop and promote estimating good practice within Turner & Townsend.
  3. Contribute to the achievement of departmental objectives.
  4. Stay up-to-date with developments in your technical area of expertise.
  5. Work with directors to construct bids for new work.
  6. Provide direction to staff working on specific tasks.
  7. Act as a role model for less experienced staff.
  8. Interface with clients and other consultants at all project stages.
  9. Develop new business opportunities with existing and new Turner & Townsend clients.
  10. Identify and act upon cross-selling opportunities.
  11. Manage staff (where applicable).
  12. Implement knowledge management.

Requirements:

  1. Qualified to a high standard in Estimating or Quantity Surveying with relevant experience.
  2. Previous experience working with estimating software packages.
  3. Desirable membership of RICS/CIOB/A.
  4. Experience working on Major Programs and Projects.
  5. Experience working in the Infrastructure sector.
  6. Experience leading and managing teams.
