Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Relief Social Care Worker to join our team at Comhairle nan Eilean Siar. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in promoting and supporting adults with support needs to maximize their inclusion, independence, and planned outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work enthusiastically as a member of a team to promote and support adults with support needs.
  • Provide support and assistance to individuals in a variety of settings, including overnight support needs.
  • Have an understanding of the rights and responsibilities of people with support needs.
  • Listen effectively and communicate clearly with individuals and their families.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team to achieve shared goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • SVQ Level III in Care (or equivalent) or the ability to undertake and achieve this qualification within 36 months of registration with the SSSC.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Working Conditions

  • This role requires the wearing and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with adults.

Salary and Benefits

  • Salary inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance.
  • Hours worked on an as and when basis.
