About the Role


We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Lochlands Resource Centre. As a Support Worker, you will work as part of our team to provide support and enable adults with learning disabilities to live ordinary lives. This will involve supporting individuals with personal care, eating, and drinking, as well as providing emotional support and companionship.



Key Responsibilities



  • Provide high-quality support to individuals with learning disabilities, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with service users, their families, and other professionals.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team to deliver a person-centred service, ensuring the needs of service users are at the heart of everything we do.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individual support plans, ensuring that the needs and aspirations of service users are met.
  • Monitor and record the progress of service users, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as necessary.


Requirements


To be successful in this role, you will need to have:



  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with service users, their families, and other professionals.
  • A high level of emotional intelligence, with the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
  • Experience of working with adults with learning disabilities, with a good understanding of their needs and aspirations.
  • A strong commitment to providing person-centred care, with a focus on promoting independence and autonomy.
  • A willingness to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of service users.
  • A valid PVG Scheme membership, with the ability to become a member of the Scheme if not already a member.
