About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our team in the Environment Business. As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of mechanical equipment on water treatment, wastewater treatment, and other industrial sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and maintain mechanical equipment, including pumps, valves, and pipes
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and lubricating equipment
  • Identify and report any defects or issues with equipment
  • Work with the site supervisor and project engineers to ensure projects are completed on time and to budget
  • Participate in an on-call rota to provide emergency breakdown attendance and fault finding
Requirements
  • Industrial mechanical installation and maintenance background
  • ONC/NVQ/City & Guilds qualification in a relevant field
  • CSCS skills card and City & Guilds Confined Space Training
  • Desirable: ECS, SSSTS, EUSR (Clean Water Hygiene), and First Aid at Work training
  • Experience working in the water and/or wastewater industry
  • Knowledge and understanding of mechanical drawings and schematics
