Job Description

ThinkForward Careers is a charity that supports young people with mild to moderate learning disabilities into employment. We are seeking a freelance Employment and Progression Coach to join our team in Birmingham.

The successful candidate will have a passion for supporting young people to make amazing decisions about their futures, and will be committed to equity, diversity, anti-racist and anti-discriminatory practice. They will also be persistent, empathic and agile in their style of work, with a strong background in youth work or a related field.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Deliver one-to-one and group work sessions to support young people in achieving their career aspirations.
  2. Develop and implement tailored progression plans for young people, including identifying education and training opportunities.
  3. Work closely with colleagues to ensure that all young people receive the support they need to succeed.
  4. Contribute to the development of new programmes and initiatives to support young people with learning disabilities.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong background in youth work or a related field.
  • Experience of working with young people with learning disabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Confidence in running one-to-one and group work sessions.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is £30,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience. You will also receive a range of benefits, including access to ongoing training and development opportunities.
