Workshop Controller Job Description

At Holtrecruitmentgroup, we are seeking an experienced Workshop Controller to lead and coordinate our team of skilled mobile and workshop technicians.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Management: Lead, manage, and motivate a team of mobile and workshop technicians to ensure timely and effective maintenance and repairs.
  • Workload Planning: Coordinate and schedule work to ensure optimal efficiency and productivity in the workshop and for mobile technicians.
  • Quality Control: Oversee the quality of work completed by technicians, ensuring all repairs and maintenance meet company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Communication: Act as the primary liaison between technicians and the Depot Manager, ensuring clear and consistent communication of workshop activities and priorities.
  • Health & Safety: Ensure all health and safety regulations are strictly adhered to within the workshop and in the field, promoting a culture of safety among the team.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track and report on workshop performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and service quality.
  • Resource Management: Manage workshop resources, including tools, equipment, and parts inventory, to ensure the team is fully equipped to perform their duties.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Proven experience as a Workshop Controller or similar role within a fleet management environment, particularly with vans and HGVs.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of motivating and guiding teams to achieve high performance.
  • Health & Safety: In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations related to vehicle maintenance and workshop environments.
