Cascade (Banks House) Limited is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at Felix House School. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the social, emotional, and mental health needs of our pupils.
About the Role
We are looking for an individual who can inspire and motivate children and young people, building positive working relationships with them. You will support pupils with their learning under the direction of teachers and management, promoting good progress and outcomes by pupils.
Key Responsibilities
- To set high expectations that inspire, motivate, and challenge pupils, including the careful presentation of work and the care of books and equipment.
- To support teachers with any administrative tasks.
- To promote good progress and outcomes by pupils.
- Demonstrate good subject and curriculum knowledge.
- Prepare and present displays.
- Take responsibility for pupils on visits, trips, and out of school activities as required.
- Record and report on the learning needs, progress, and achievements of pupils.
- Support pupils to develop their skills of independence, resilience, and confidence.
- Support the use of ICT in the curriculum.
- Administer first aid and/or medication (once trained).
- To participate in curriculum and management planning meetings, meetings with colleagues, parents, and other agencies.
- Make a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school.
- Work with others on curriculum and pupil development to secure improved outcomes.
- Promote the safety and wellbeing of pupils.
- Manage behaviour effectively to ensure a good and safe learning environment.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to adapt teaching support according to pupils' individual needs, abilities, and attainment levels, and be able to form positive relationships with children and young people.
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this role is £28,000 - £35,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits including professional development opportunities and a supportive working environment.
