Deputy School Admissions Manager

Job Overview
The Deputy School Admissions Lead will play a key role in shaping the School Admissions Service, working closely with schools, local authorities, and colleagues within Bristol City Council to allocate school places and improve outcomes for children and young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Mentor, supervise, and manage colleagues, providing expertise and guidance as needed.
- Deputise for the Service Lead in their absence, ensuring continuity and effective service delivery.
- Work closely with the Service Lead to lead on projects, develop service provision, and produce statistics and reports.
- Provide expertise, skills, and knowledge to colleagues, promoting independent working and teamwork.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including schools, local authorities, and multi-academy trusts.
Requirements
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships.
- Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to produce high-quality statistics and reports.
- Dynamic, resilient, and able to solve problems effectively.
- Ability to work in a fast-changing environment, adapting to new challenges and priorities.
- Knowledge of school admissions policy and legislation, with the ability to apply this knowledge in practice.
