The School Admissions Service is based in City Hall in Central Bristol. Our primary focus is allocating school places, working closely with schools, local authorities, multi academy trusts and colleagues within Bristol City Council such as School Place Planning and the Special Educational Needs Team to make a positive contribution to children and families across the city.

What will I be doing?

The role involves day-to-day mentoring, supervision and management of colleagues and deputising in the Service Lead's absence.

You will be working closely with the Service Lead providing expertise leading on projects, using your analytical and research skills to produce statistics, information and reports, as well as developing service provision.

You will provide expertise, skills and knowledge and the ability to encourage others to work independently and as part of a team.

You need to be dynamic, resilient, show tenacity and the ability to solve problems.

You will have excellent interpersonal skills with an eye for detail and process.

You will be a great communicator, able to manage complex and varied stakeholder relationships.

You will be open to change and challenge that often arises in a fast-changing dynamic environment. Furthermore, you will demonstrate the ability to absorb and understand relevant school admissions policy and legislation.
