Are you a Finance Manager looking for a part-time role with a friendly legal firm?

The purpose of the role is to oversee the finance function; ensure the correct operation of the Solicitors' Accounts Rules; supervise other finance staff both in-house and external and to report to the Partners on financial matters.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Monitor all bank accounts
  2. Produce monthly reports
  3. Supervise the work of the Legal Cashiers in the team
  4. Provide holiday cover when the Legal Cashiers are on holiday
  5. Set up, check and authorise payments from the bank accounts
  6. Deal with the writing of cheques and banking of cheque receipts
  7. Payment of partners' expenses
  8. Petty Cash
  9. Assist staff members with accounting queries
  10. Keep nominal ledgers up to date and maintain accuracy
  11. Deal with all preparations for the annual Accountant's audit
  12. Ensure money on Client ledgers is repaid to clients in a timely manner
  13. Monitor potential bad debt and help fee earners to deal with this
  14. Monitors write offs on Client ledgers
  15. Record and monitor breaches of the Solicitors' Accounts Rules
  16. Deal with the production month end reports

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a friendly legal firm as a Part-Time Finance Manager. As a key member of the finance team, you will be responsible for overseeing the finance function, ensuring the correct operation of the Solicitors' Accounts Rules, and supervising other finance staff.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in finance and a strong understanding of the legal sector. You will be responsible for monitoring bank accounts, producing monthly reports, and providing holiday cover for the Legal Cashiers.

You will also be responsible for setting up, checking, and authorising payments from the bank accounts, dealing with the writing of cheques and banking of cheque receipts, and paying partners' expenses.

In addition, you will be responsible for assisting staff members with accounting queries, keeping nominal ledgers up to date and maintaining accuracy, and dealing with all preparations for the annual Accountant's audit.

The successful candidate will be offered a salary of £18-22ph, a 19-hour working week in set hours, and a friendly and professional working environment.
