Appointment of Richard Smith as Chair of Solent University Board of Governors

Solent University is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Smith as the incoming Chair of the Board of Governors. This strategic leadership role will play a crucial part in driving the University's continued success and growth.

With a strong background in leadership and governance, Richard brings a wealth of experience to the role. His most recent position as Chief Executive of Unite Students has provided him with a deep understanding of the higher education sector and its challenges.

As Chair of the Board of Governors, Richard will be responsible for overseeing the University's strategic direction and ensuring that it remains at the forefront of innovation and excellence. He will work closely with the Vice-Chancellor, Professor James Knowles, and the Board to drive forward the University's Solent 2035 strategy.

Richard's appointment is a significant milestone for Solent University, and we look forward to his contributions to our continued success. His passion for education and his commitment to making a meaningful difference will be invaluable assets to our Board and the University as a whole.
