About the Role

Penguin Recruitment is proud to be supporting a renowned national planning consultancy in their search for a Principal Planner to join their team in Harpenden. This is a full-time and permanent position, offering a competitive salary and benefits package.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert planning advice to clients across various sectors, including agriculture, commercial, education, energy, healthcare, heritage, residential, specialist housing, and leisure.
  • Conduct site appraisals, prepare planning applications, and engage in community consultation and environmental assessments.
  • Offer policy and site promotion services, handle appeals, and provide certificates of lawfulness, enforcement, heritage and conservation, planning obligations, representations, and objections.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will hold a planning degree (or similar) with previous experience at Senior, Principal, or Associate Planner level. You will be a confident communicator, able to demonstrate a clear passion for planning, and possess MRTPI (or be working towards it). A team player with the ability to work independently, you will thrive in a supportive and respected consultancy environment.
