About the Role

Spencer Clarke Group is seeking a skilled Housing Options Officer to join our team in Bournemouth. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with our local authority client to assess housing duties and provide specialist advice on complex housing options and homeless prevention initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess the Council's housing duty to applicants, ensuring compliance with statute and Council policy.
  • Provide expert advice on a range of housing options and homeless prevention initiatives.
  • Manage a caseload, conducting detailed legal assessments and making decisions on housing or homelessness applications.
  • Participate in the Housing Options Duty Rota, delivering excellent customer service through various communication channels.
  • Effectively manage caseloads through personal housing plans, communication strategies, and record keeping.

About You

We are looking for an experienced professional with a strong background in providing advice to individuals in housing need or a relevant sector. Your expertise in managing caseloads and developing support plans will be invaluable in this role. Additionally, your ability to recognize issues related to Adult safeguarding, child protection, and domestic abuse will be essential in ensuring the well-being of our clients.

Requirements:

  • Experience in providing professional advice to individuals in housing need or a relevant sector.
  • Experience working with vulnerable clients, including those with mental health issues, substance misuse, or learning disabilities.
  • Ability to effectively use casework management systems.
