About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Havant. This full-time position offers a competitive salary of £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical support for service and internal customers, maintaining chromatography systems, diagnosing complex technical issues, and performing electrical fault finding with support from the field engineering team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide repair and maintenance support, diagnose complex technical issues, configure systems, and perform electrical fault finding on systems both in the factory and at customer sites.
  • Support projects pre-FAT, FAT, installation, and SAT.
  • Assist customers in using systems, troubleshooting directly with them either remotely or on site.
  • Liaise with software houses, R&D, engineering, and application teams to resolve technical problems related to systems.
  • Train individuals on the systems either on customer sites or in the factory at the Havant site.
  • Provide problem descriptions on hardware and automation including root cause analysis.
  • Implement the software bench test together with the Process Application department.
  • Install the industrial software on the target hardware and support the QA department in commissioning and qualification at FAT.
  • Document hardware and software errors during commissioning.
  • Organise software backups and updates.
  • Travel to customer sites occasionally.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements
  • HNC/HND or ONC in Instrumentation and Control Engineering (not compulsory) or Engineering Apprenticeship with supporting qualification and experience in instrumentation or controls engineering.
  • Previous engineering experience within a manufacturing/production environment in the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry is ideal, though candidates from other industries will also be considered.
  • Experience in electrical fault finding and diagnosing technical issues related to software.
  • Knowledge of automated systems, such as PLC, SCADA, SIEMENS S7/WINCC, industrial network, and field bus systems is useful but not essential.
  • Knowledge of sensors, measurement amplifiers, PCs, and software applications.
  • Experience in delivering service to customers and effective communication.
  • High accuracy in technical writing.
  • Proactive and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel.
