Dental Hygienist Position Overview

The Dental Centre Tenterden is seeking a highly skilled Dental Hygienist to join our team on a part-time basis. About the Job

  • Performs dental cleanings and assessments, including scaling and polishing teeth.
  • Conducts medical imaging as needed to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Assists in four-handed dentistry procedures, ensuring efficiency and patient comfort.
  • Provides pediatric dental care tailored to the needs of younger patients.
  • Maintains strict infection control protocols and adheres to aseptic techniques during all procedures.
  • Reviews documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with medical terminology standards.
  • Educates patients on proper oral hygiene practices and the importance of regular dental visits.
  • Collaborates with the dental team to ensure comprehensive patient care in general dentistry settings.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Valid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist.
  • Proficiency in medical imaging techniques and familiarity with Eaglesoft software is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of infection control measures and aseptic techniques.
  • Experience in pediatrics is a plus, but not mandatory.
  • Excellent documentation review skills and attention to detail in patient records.
  • Ability to provide compassionate patient care while effectively communicating oral health information.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dental practices is essential.

Working Arrangements

  • Part-time role (14 hours per week).
  • Day shift only.
  • 8 hour shifts.
