The successful candidate will be a skilled corporate/commercial lawyer with a genuine passion for the marine/shipping sector. Ideally, candidates should have previous experience in this area of practice, but we also welcome applications from those who are eager to learn and develop their skills.

About the Role

This role involves advising clients on a wide range of commercial matters, including drafting general commercial agreements, more complex maritime and offshore projects, and corporate matters such as advising on corporate structures and vehicles.

  • Advising major cruise companies on repair and refit of its vessels
  • Corporate restructure of large passenger ferry businesses
  • Decommissioning and recycling contracts of oil rigs for major international oil companies

As a senior associate in our shipping team, you will work closely with experienced lawyers to provide expert advice to clients across the globe. You will also have opportunities to develop your skills in contract negotiation, dispute resolution, and project management.

Key Skills and Attributes

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A strong academic record in law, preferably with a first-class honors degree
  • Relevant experience in commercial law, particularly in the maritime/shipping sector
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
