Job Summary

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced and dynamic physiotherapist to join the Oxford Muscle Service, a regional specialist service supporting five surrounding counties for those with neuromuscular conditions. The successful candidate will work as part of the adult team to deliver out-patient clinical care with the neuromuscular population, with a special interest in Spinal Muscular Atrophy.

Main Responsibilities

The physiotherapist will be responsible for providing specialist assessment and treatment of complex patients, using advanced clinical reasoning skills to provide high-quality care. The ideal candidate will have relevant postgraduate experience and be able to demonstrate a high level of physiotherapy skill and expertise.

About the Role

The Oxford Muscle Service is a multidisciplinary team consisting of highly specialist doctors, physiotherapists, care advisors, and access to psychology. The team works closely together to deliver a comprehensive service, and the successful candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with the team to achieve this goal.

Person Specification

  • HCPC registered
  • Postgraduate experience with CPD evidence
  • Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Member of CSP
  • Member of ACPIN
  • Experience of working as part of a Physiotherapy team and multidisciplinary team
  • Understanding of the management of neuromuscular patients

Skills and Knowledge

  • Advanced clinical reasoning skills in neurological physiotherapy
  • Good knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathology related to adult neurological disorders
  • Ability to organise, prioritise, and delegate
  • Ability to work with a multidisciplinary team and set team goals
