About Us

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is a leading provider of acute hospital services for around half a million people in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and mid Wales.

Our main service locations are the Princess Royal Hospital (PRH) in Telford and the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital (RSH) in Shrewsbury which are located 20 minutes' drive apart. Both hospitals provide a wide range of acute hospital services including accident & emergency, outpatients, diagnostics, inpatient medical care and critical care.

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Gastrointestinal Radiologist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for reporting general radiographic examinations, developing advanced clinical skills in Upper GI patients, and participating in the on-call rota.

Main Responsibilities

  • Reporting of general radiographic examinations for inpatient and outpatient populations
  • Developing and maintaining advanced clinical skills in Upper GI patients
  • Participating in the on-call rota and providing cover for annual and study leave
  • Organizing and administering the Radiology Department, including teaching other clinical staff
  • Attending weekly Upper GI MDT meetings and delivering clinical and quality targets

Requirements

  • MBBS, MBChB or equivalent medical qualification
  • FRCR or equivalent
  • GMC Specialist Registration in Specialty or eligibility for entry onto the Specialist Register within 6 months
  • Full Registration and a licence to practise with the General Medical Council (GMC)

Salary Information

The salary for this position is estimated to be between £70,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on experience. This figure includes all additional benefits and allowances provided by the NHS.
