Job Summary

Bechtel is seeking a highly skilled Lead Field Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for coordinating with engineering on constructability and design issues, monitoring the interfacing between the construction automation plan and the project controls program at the jobsite, and establishing a Design/Field Engineering working relationship with the Lead Discipline Field Engineer/Area Field Engineer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with engineering on constructability and design issues and monitor the interfacing between the construction automation plan and the project controls program at the jobsite.
  • Establish a Design/Field Engineering working relationship and lines of communication with the Lead Discipline Field Engineer/Area Field Engineer, including agreement on engineering deliverables.
  • Responsible for quantity take-off, control, reporting, and forecasting, and ensure the implementation of project environmental control plans as required.
  • Support as required the design of temporary construction facilities, preparation of cost estimates for construction activities, and coordinates the preparation of cost reports, forecast, and progress reports.
  • Reviews and provides input to project controls documents on progress relating to cost and schedule, and material receiving reports and warehousing to assure delivery of correct materials.
  • Plans and recommends procedures to be implemented by construction contractors to ensure construction operations are within requirements of engineering design and specifications.
  • Maintenance of construction engineering records for job history. Supervises the receiving, distribution, and filing of plans and specifications.
  • Implements controls over variables affecting job progress to ensure engineering and procurement provide timely delivery of drawings, materials, and equipment and to ensure that other corporate programs are fully utilized.
  • Coordinates with the Area Field Engineer/Project Field Engineer for any work related to contract administration and activities affecting the contract administration operation.
