A well-established secondary school in Lancashire is seeking a dynamic and experienced Deputy Headteacher to join their senior leadership team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and inspirational leader to make a significant impact in a thriving school community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on specific areas of school improvement, such as curriculum development, teaching and learning, or student progress.
  • Support the Headteacher in day-to-day leadership, including overseeing staff management, behaviour management, and safeguarding.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive school culture that promotes student achievement and wellbeing.
  • Manage key operational tasks, including timetabling, staff development, and resource allocation.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the leadership team to achieve the school's strategic objectives.
  • Engage with parents, governors, and external stakeholders to build positive relationships and enhance the school's community standing.

Person Specification:

The successful candidate will be an experienced and ambitious senior leader with a proven track record of driving improvement in a secondary school setting. They will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and substantial teaching experience within secondary education.
  • Previous experience in a senior leadership role, such as Assistant Headteacher or Deputy Headteacher.
  • A strong understanding of school improvement strategies, with a focus on raising achievement and improving teaching standards.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and support staff at all levels.
  • Proven experience in curriculum development, data analysis, and the use of assessment to drive student outcomes.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • The ability to work collaboratively and flexibly in a fast-paced environment.
  • A passion for education and a commitment to maintaining and building upon the school's high standards.
