Cash Applications Specialist



Job Overview:

As a Cash Applications Specialist at Informa PLC, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the timely and accurate allocation of funds to customer accounts. This position requires a high level of service and adherence to company policies to provide a seamless experience for customers and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Investigate and resolve unidentified or unapplied payments, allocating them as required
  • Process bank statements and update matching rules as needed
  • Input and process daily cash receipts from statements, cheques, and credit cards
  • Perform standard cash allocations and reconcile the associated General Ledger
  • Reconcile SAP, bank postings, and MCAS daily, as appropriate
  • Execute refund payments through the correct methods
  • Prepare and reconcile all bank accounts managed by the SSC
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies identified in reconciliations
  • Prepare reconciliations for credit card and petty cash accounts, as applicable
  • Report on cash movements to assist in cash-flow analysis, when necessary
  • Manage and reconcile funds related to Agent Order Files (SSC Specific)
  • Coordinate with internal and external customers to resolve queries
  • Report on credit balances (SSC Specific)


Requirements:

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships across various internal departments and key contacts

• Knowledge of SAP system is highly preferable, supporting efficient and accurate cash operations

• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook is essential

• Ability to remain approachable and supportive under pressure

• Skilled in using relevant internal systems with a focus on accuracy and efficiency

• Demonstrates integrity, tact, and diplomacy in all interactions

• Effective team player who collaborates well with others

• Capable of handling a diverse range of tasks and managing multiple responsibilities

• Proactive problem-solving skills, with a solutions-oriented mindset

• Excellent customer service skills, ensuring positive experiences for all stakeholders

• Strong time management skills, able to prioritize and meet deadlines

• Adaptable and flexible, open to taking on varied responsibilities

• Strong oral and written communication skills, ensuring clarity and professionalism

• Solid understanding of Cash Applications processes, especially in: Queries & Allocations, Cash Processing and Reconciliations, Cash Operations best practices
