NHS Scotland's Commitment to Equality and Diversity

NHS Scotland is dedicated to fostering an inclusive work environment, where every employee feels valued and respected. We welcome applications from diverse backgrounds, ensuring our workforce reflects the community we serve.

Working Hours and Flexibility

As part of our efforts to improve work-life balance, we are reducing our full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours, with no change in pay. This adjustment will also apply pro rata for part-time staff. While some service areas may temporarily require additional hours, you will be fairly compensated until the new working patterns are implemented.

Supporting Disabled Candidates

We are committed to making reasonable adjustments to our recruitment process, ensuring equal opportunities for all candidates, including those with disabilities, long-term conditions, or neurodivergent needs.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Provide leadership in the delivery of patient care, overseeing the area of responsibility.
  2. Assume managerial responsibilities in the absence of the Senior Charge Nurse/Team Manager, supervising and deploying staff.
  3. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to assess care needs, evaluate care plans, and ensure high-quality care delivery.
  4. Maintain both clinical and staff governance, ensuring accountability and responsibility.

Requirements

This role requires a PVG Scheme membership/record. If you are not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group, you will need to apply to Disclosure Scotland and obtain a satisfactory result before beginning in the position.
