We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Child Development Specialist to join our team at Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional to make a real difference in the lives of children with learning disabilities and complex needs.

The role will involve working closely with children, young people, and their families to develop and implement positive behavior support plans. You will also be responsible for assessing individual needs, developing risk management plans, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality care.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have experience working with children and young people with learning disabilities and complex needs. You should also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

In return, we offer a competitive salary of £38,890 - £44,884 per annum, depending on experience. You will also benefit from ongoing training and development opportunities, as well as a comprehensive benefits package.

Job Description
  • This is a Band 5 Community Learning Disability Nurse role within a new multi-agency team comprising clinical psychology, learning disability nursing, speech therapy, occupational therapy, and support workers.
  • You will work alongside local respite and short breaks services to create, instigate, and support person-centered positive behavior support plans.
  • You will have experience working with children and young people with severe learning disabilities and complex needs, including autism and/or behavior that challenges.
  • You will have developed skills in assessment, formulation, intervention, and evaluation.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • R.N.L.D or BSC Hons in Learning Disability Nursing and Social Work or equivalent relevant experience.
  • NMC Registration.
  • Post-registration qualifications in related subjects, such as Positive Behavioral Support, Community Specialist Practitioner, or Autism.
  • Completion of CYP IAPT LD.
